My new tarnished silver obsession

Lately I have been very attracted to tarnished silver and the aged patina that it has. I started noticing it on my trips to Goodwill and wondering how can use these discarded tea set pieces in a new and creative way. Then it dawned on me that they would look great in a bathroom or on a vanity. Fill them with cotton balls, Q-tips, make-up brushes, beach glass and shell collections, or whatever you use regularly.I usually find pieces at Goodwill from$1.99 to $3.99.The more ornate the better.

Goodwill Hunting

Great finds at the Goodwill in Laurel yesterday. I found 4 pairs of boys cargo shorts,1 Ralph Lauren plaid button down boys shirt, 2 boys hawaiin shirts,1 boys swim shirt,1 tie-dye shirt,1 men's Sean John shirt,2 silverplated pieces( I'm collecting now ),1 paint kit w/canvas',1 melissa & Doug wood'n crafts kit ( both kits have never been open ), Cute toss pillow, handmade afghan,and a collectible plate. Including tax $38.55. I call that alot of fun for $38 dollars!!!!

Freebies in the mail 8/18-8/23

Here is a sampling of some of the wonderful freebies I got this week. The 2 tubes of hemp cream came from The Body Shop using a $10 off coupon on a $10 purchase. The cream was $10 of course. I also got a 4 pc. facial kit from Origin's which recently opened a counter in the Southgate Dillards. It involved a 2 minute consultation and then I got a gift set with MSRP of $40. The Porsche Posters were an awesome freebie, very suitable for framing. The Mountain Meadow Herbs Femme Defense herbal dietary supplement is a full size bottle MSRP of $29.95. Not counting the magazines and other random small samples, I would say I hauled in about $100 in free stuff this week!!! P.S. I will never have to buy tampons again, I get sample packs practically every week.

How to make a shell mirror

It's really easy. All you need is a bunch of shells, glue gun and a mirror with a frame. I used the smaller,flatter shells to form my bottom layer and then used the rarer more decorative shells to form a pattern on top. Then I used the largest shells to form a bonnet at the top. Make sure you use alot of glue. It will form glue like webs ,but those are easily removed at the end. Hang only in doors if you are using a glue gun. I found my mirror at a garage sale for five dollars. These mirrors sell in designer shops for $300 and more.

Scrubbing Bubbles- Action Scrubber

So here's the scoop- I am an agent with Bzzagent ( a network and testing team ) I'm not undercover, I want you all to know. What I do is sign up for new product campaigns, receive product in the mail , test, it buzz about it with people I know and then report back . Pretty simple and fun and a way to be one of the first to try something new. Today I'm trying a new product by Scrubbing Bubbles action scrubber. It's a sponge like device that fits in your hand comfortable and has disposable cleaning pads that stick on it like Velcro. You moisten the pad and then go to town cleaning the soap scum off your tub, sinks, toilets wherever soap scum lingers. The smell is a nice citrus scent and you don't need to put any elbow grease into it what so ever. It leaves your porcelain clean and sparkly. Please note: this product does not remove mold however. My $20 a day addiction to Goodwill

It started years ago but it was an occasionally recreational hobby. Ever since my visit to Portland Oregon it has become a daily obsession. Portland Oregon has the most awesome Goodwills. They are like high end consignment shops with designer labels and clothes in pristine quality. I found a pair of Seven jeans for $12.99 and a Gusto shirt for $2.29. That's how it started. Now I'm scouring the local sarasota Goodwills whenever I can. It doesn't help that I have one right down the street from me. It's like having a crack house right next door. I spend on an average visit about $20. I leave with bags of Gap clothes that are in perfect condition and in style. If anyone can offer some advise on how I can make money doing this, please notify me as soon as possible before I spend all my savings and end up working at Goodwill.

What I got free today

I bought the sept. issue of seventeen magazine and in it was a coupon for a free t-shirt at wet seal and a coupon for a free jenny t-back at macys. I also had a coupon for $10 off a $10 or more purchase at JC Penneys and a coupon for a free mascara at estee lauder. I bought Leah a new wallet at JC penney original $42 but with there 70% off sale it came to $11.99 minus the $10 coupon it was $1.99. For all this stuff it cost me $2.99 for magazine and $1.99 for wallet. In the mail yesterday I got 10 free magazines, a Heinz pickle and ketchup pin, sample of Gillette shampoo for men and 3 samples of cajun cooling gel.

When shopping is better then sex!

Yesterday I fell on the greatest shopping deal of a life time. All of you in the Sarasota area check it out. Those of you from out of town will just have to drool. A new Bealls clearance outlet has opened in Osprey Florida. Huge store and the sale was - 70% off then 40% off and then an additional 15% off at the register. We are talking great brand names here!! I spent $68 and here is my list: 2 sets of Pokemon 3pc. jammies for Ben, 3 men's shirts ( one was a Columbia brand ) 5 junior hip shirts, cool Jonn hardy swim trunks for Ben, 4 panties and a bra, super cool necklace,3 dresses, billibong flips, and a purse. Some of the shirts were only 60 cents!!!! I am in heaven- not only was it fun but I am still on a shoppers high. I hope you all who go there do as well as me.

My first

Not a great day for freebies on line and we don't even get mail. Hard day for freebie junkies like me. Met my spoofee pal- Kim on Friday. What a treat to finally meet in person. Hey Kim!!! I'm going to call the Hyatt today to get the scoop on my 3 day weekend getaway. I'll keep you all posted. Feelin' my way through and hoping to make this more interesting! Here's to my first blog!

This is my big news of the week. I won from radio station 933flz a 3 day all expense weekend at the Hyatt Resort and Spa in Bonita Springs!!! Any of my girls that need a weekend away give me a shout!!!
